1. Statutory Warranty (2 years) In accordance with the Law of Georgia "On the Protection of Consumer Rights," products offered by "Lumos" are covered by a 2-year statutory warranty, applicable only to manufacturing defects..
- Scope of the Warranty: The warranty covers only latent defects present in the product at the time of origin (manufacturing defects) and does not extend to damage resulting from usage, improper assembly, or incorrect installation.
- Consumer Rights (Primary Remedies): In the event of a manufacturing defect, the consumer has the right to request the repair or replacement of the item free of charge, unless such action is impossible due to the nature of the goods or would entail disproportionately high costs.
- Consumer Rights (Secondary Remedies): The consumer may request a price reduction or withdraw from the contract (receive a refund) only if the repair or replacement of the item is impossible, or if "Lumos" has failed to repair or replace it within a reasonable timeframe.
- Burden of Proof: The burden of proving the existence of an original manufacturing defect in the item, from the moment of its delivery, rests with "Lumos" for the first 6 months, whereas after the 6-month period has elapsed, it rests entirely with the client.. After this period, the customer is required to prove, through an independent expert assessment, that the defect was a factory defect.
- Repair Period: Upon confirmation of a warranty claim, the maximum time allowed for the repair of the item or the rectification of the defect is 30 calendar days. If the product is replaced with a new one during the warranty period, the warranty period does not reset; it continues within the scope of the original term.
2. Policy for items purchased at a physical branch (Didi Dighomi, Gldani, Gori)
- Returning a non-defective (good-quality) item purchased in-store and receiving a refund is not permitted..
- The customer has the right, within 3 calendar days of the purchase, to request an exchange of the product for another product.
- Mandatory conditions for an exchange: The item must be in perfect, original condition—free from any signs of use, assembly, or mounting on a wall or ceiling—and contained within its original, undamaged packaging. The customer is responsible for covering all transportation costs.
3. Procedure for the unconditional return of items purchased remotely (via lumosmaxima.ge) (14-day period)When purchasing online, the customer has the right to return an item without providing any reason within 14 calendar days, subject to the following strict conditions:
- Condition of the item: The item must be unused and in its original condition. Unconditional Return Does not apply to: Furniture already assembled by the customer, or lighting systems that have been mounted on a wall/ceiling (even once) or connected to the electrical mains (as these actions cause the item to lose its original, sellable appearance).
- Exception: The 14-day unconditional return right does not apply at all. Does not apply to: For furniture or lighting items that have been manufactured or modified based on a customer's individual order (specific dimensions, color, materials).
- Transportation: The customer shall bear the full cost of transporting the item back to the "Lumos" service center (22 Petre Iberi St.).
4. Handover and Transportation of the Item
- Handover: When collecting an item from a branch or receiving it from a courier, the customer is required to: Inspect the item on-site to ensure its visual integrity and structural soundness.By signing the handover document, the customer confirms that the item is free from mechanical damage (such as scratches, broken components, chipped corners, or broken glass). Claims regarding visual defects will not be accepted at a later stage.
- Self-Pickup and Third Parties: In the event that a customer collects products personally from a physical "Lumos" branch, or requests delivery via a third party (such as a taxi, a private courier, etc.), the responsibility for any damage incurred during transport shifts entirely to the client from the moment the product is handed over or loaded into the vehicle. In such cases, the warranty for the item becomes void, and the company is fully released from its obligations.
- If an item has a latent manufacturing defect or is damaged during transport carried out directly by a "Lumos" courier, the company will provide a replacement at its own expense.
5. Warranty Service Is Not Provided (Conditions for 100% Voidance of Warranty):"Lumos" is fully and 100% released from its warranty obligations in the following cases:
- The warranty period (2 years) has expired.
- The customer is unable to provide a proof of purchase/warranty document, invoice, or receipt, making it impossible to identify the item.
- The product’s construction has been altered, restored, or modified by the customer.
- The damage was caused by improper use, failure to follow maintenance guidelines, or mechanical impact (dropping, striking).
- Installation and Assembly: "Lumos" does not perform installation or assembly services for its products. Consequently, damage to an item caused by incorrect assembly by the user (or a third party), improper mounting to the ceiling/wall, or failure to follow the provided instructions, is not covered by warranty service..
- Electrical systems (chandeliers, wall lamps, floor lamps, track lighting systems): Incorrect connection to the electrical mains, faults in the internal electrical network (voltage fluctuations, short circuits), moving light fixtures while they are powered on, or the use of bulbs with an inappropriate wattage—resulting in the item burning out or sustaining damage— fully voids the warranty..
- Upholstered furniture and chairs (sofas, armchairs, chairs): Exceeding the maximum weight limit (90–125 kg per seat); damage caused by jumping on the furniture or sitting on the backrests or armrests; damage to a folding/extending mechanism caused by forceful or abrupt movement; cleaning the fabric/leather with prohibited chemical solutions, alcohol, or acetone; Damage caused by animals.
- Pools, pool pumps, and filters: The pump/filtration system was operated without water ("run dry"), causing the motor to burn out; the system was damaged by the entry of coarse debris or pebbles due to the absence of a protective mesh; the pool material was mechanically torn or cut as a result of being installed on an uneven surface; chemicals or chlorine prohibited by the manufacturer were used.
- Tables, coffee tables, console tables, and TV stands (ceramic, wood, MDF, artificial marble): * The surface shows cracks or chips resulting from a point impact, or the dropping or falling of a heavy object (mechanical damage).
- The wood or MDF surface has become deformed, swollen, or cracked due to prolonged exposure to water or high humidity.
- The surface was damaged due to hot objects being placed directly upon it without a protective trivet (thermal shock), or as a result of cleaning with abrasive or acidic chemical agents.
- Mirrors and artificial plants: The mirror broke or cracked due to mechanical impact or insecure wall mounting; the reflective backing (amalgam) of the mirror was damaged by cleaning with harsh liquids; the artificial plant became discolored or faded due to prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or proximity to a heating source; stems or leaves were broken due to rough handling or mechanical impact.
- Outdoor furniture (patio and terrace furniture): The furniture was damaged by extreme weather conditions (hail, frost, strong winds) because it was left outdoors without a protective cover; fabric components developed mold due to being left in the rain for an extended period and/or improper drying.
